An ache in the head has nothing to do with any abnormalities occurring within the brain. Home Remedies For Headaches
For a quick headache relief, apply a few drops of either rosemary or thyme essential oil on either sides of the forehead, around the temple regions. Gently massage the oil into the skin and relax with closed eyes for a couple of minutes or even more. These essential oils contain properties that work similar to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Applying peppermint oil on the forehead will provide a cooling effect, helping to relax tensed muscles and nerves, thus providing some amount of pain relief.
Individuals with migraine headaches have been found to be suffering from magnesium deficiency as well. According to experts, taking a slow-releasing magnesium supplement that can be purchased from a nearby drugstore; or increasing the intake of foods rich in magnesium, like dark chocolate, dried figs, pumpkin seeds, and seafood will help in decreasing the frequency of headache episodes.
Also, seen is a vitamin deficiency, called the riboflavin, in frequent headache or migraine sufferers. This vitamin is found plenty in foods like, seeds – especially sesame seeds, seafood, nuts – almonds tops the list, and certain types of cheese.
Prepare a nice ginger tea for consumption while having throbbing headaches, to pacify the nauseous feelings that sometimes can accompany such episodes. To about 2 cups of boiling water, add a few slices of gingerroot and allow it to simmer gently for approximately half an hour. Strain, add honey and drink.
