Nail Fungus and Home Remedies
Nail fungus is also known as onychomcosis. Nail fungus is an infection that arises on the finger as well as toe nails. When fungi attack the nails it could lead to the nail fungus infection. Alternatively, some drops of tea tree oil can also be mixed with water in a bowl and the nail can be placed in the mixture for treating the fungus.

- Coconut Oil Remedy
Application of coconut oil on the infected nail is another way to get respite from the nail fungus. The fatty acids in coconut oil can disintegrate the infected cells thereby leading to elimination of the fungi. Use gloves and massage coconut oil on the infection few times in a day to enjoy the benefits of coconut oil in combating the fungus infection.
- Garlic and White Vinegar Mixture Cure
Crushed fresh garlic has anti-fungal properties caused by the release of the allicin compound. Combine equal amounts of white vinegar and pressed garlic and dip the affected nail in the combination. Keep the nail soaked for several minutes and repeat the course 2-3 times in a day.
- Apple Cider Vinegar Healing
Apple cider vinegar can also be diluted in equal quantities of water and the nail can be dipped in the solution for 30 minutes for alleviating the pain associated with nail fungus infection.
- Other Remedies
Soaking the infected nail in 15 minutes in mouth wash also helps to ward off the infection as the alcohol in mouth wash has the ability to fight germs. Heated lavender oil when applied on the infection with the help of a cotton ball can also have a favorable effect when it comes to restricting the infection from scattering.
