Home remedies for Quick Gas Relief

Production of gas is a natural process of the digestive system and an uncontrolled fart being released out is considered as absolutely normal. Eating spicy food, stress, excessive drinking, and bacterial infections are some of the reasons for gas formation inside the digestive system. Symptoms of stomach gas include bad breath, loss of appetite, belching, stomach pain, and a coating on the tongue. Over-the-counter medications may relieve stomach gas for a limited period of time, but not effective as any natural or home remedy that contributes complete cure.

  • Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is used for the treatment of indigestion and gas production.

  • Cinnamon

Consumption of cinnamon powder in milk or drinking cinnamon tea will soothe the stomach and prevents the formation of gas.

  • Ginger

Ginger is a good remedy for indigestion and relieves gas problem. Consumption of a piece of ginger after meals and drinking ginger tea helps in controlling the formation of gas in the stomach.   • Buttermilk

A combination of buttermilk, black salt, and carom seeds is considered as a good remedy for gas production. It is easier to digest than milk and contains lactic acid.

  • Baking soda and lemon

Dissolve baking soda in a cup of water and consume it along with lemon extracts. It acts as an effective antacid.

  • Garlic

Consumption of a decoction prepared from garlic or garlic soup helps stimulate the gastric fire and relief from stomach gas.

  • Asafetida

Asaetida is an effective remedy for gas formation due to its anti-spasmodic and anti-flatulent properties.

  • Fennel

Consumption of a decoction of fennel prepared in a pot of hot water is a fast acting remedy for bloating and gas formation.

  • Peppermint

Intake of peppermint tea or decoction prepared from peppermint is a good medicine to relieve gas problems.

  • Cardamom

Cardamom has the potential to soothe gas problems, churning stomach, and ease gastric disconfort. It speeds up digestion.

  • Caraway seeds

Intake of a pinch of caraway seeds relieves gas formation, pain, and other discomforts.

  • Herbal teas

Chamomile is a herb that possess anti-spamodic and anti-inflammatory properties. A decoction of chamomile relieves heartburn, gas formation, and indigestion. Mint , raspberry, and black berry teas work best against gas formation and indigestion. Fresh mint leaves or f\dried chamomile flowers can be dipped in water and later used.

  • Pumpkin

Gas formation is after effect of indigestion event happening inside a body. High amount of fiber is hard to digest and does not break down in the small intestine. Consumption of pumpkin after meal can ward off gas formed inside the intestine.

  • Anise seeds

Anise has an anti-spasmodic property and helps relax digestive tract.

  • Chew the food

  • Coriander

Coriander relieves the burning sensation, gas formation, and indigestion. It can be consumed by either roasting it or mixing it in a glass of butter milk.

  • Cloves

Cloves increase the mobility of gut and gastrointestinal secretion thus helping in digestion and curing gas, and indigestion problems. Pieces of clove or clove oil can be administered to get rid of stomach irritability.
